Speaker: Julie Caspar

3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. – Sign-In and Networking
3:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Announcements, Introductions, and Sponsor comments
4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Presentation on Getting People to the Table and Optimizing Talent Selection by Julie Caspar

Getting People to the Table and Optimizing Talent Selection takes the audience through key elements, considerations and actions that not only help organizations identify and select key talent, but also introduces them to ways to get the key talent knocking on the organization door in the first place. The overall goal of the presentation is to provide the audience with concepts and approaches that will help them attract candidates and hire right the first time.

The presentation will highlight key statistics along with aspects of the 7-Steps Recruitment & Selection Model (Caspar, 2017) that will help HR professionals to begin to shift thinking around recruitment to make their organizations more effective. The presentation will discuss: defining the job, working with job shareholders and stakeholders so they are on the same page; identifying and implementing creative and novel approaches that market the job as well as the organization; building a process that takes into account the candidate experience, promoting positive public relations in the community and beyond; providing the tools and information hiring managers need to optimize their selection and evaluation capability along with their portrayal to candidates; and the critical importance of the Human Resources role that will help elevate hiring, distinguishing their organization from others.

The presentation will include two brief activities that will help engage the attendees and potentially identify some actions they may wish to implement in their jobs to increase effectiveness around talent acquisition.
