Topic/Title:
What HR Should Know About Data & Analytics

*Approved for 1 CEC with HRCI and SHRM

Description:

No matter what size organization you work for you are most likely experiencing a higher use of and demand for data and data analytics.  Do you know how to best meet the increasing data demands of your organization?

Have you heard of a data scientist, a machine learning specialist or a data engineer?  As data and analytics become or continue to be a strategic priority for most organizations and business leaders, it is a game changer for many HR departments.  It means a shift in the workforce, including new roles, skills, and learning paths.  The World Economic Forum predicts in their publication The Future of Jobs Report 2018, that the demand for these types of roles will continue to grow until 2022.  Are you ready to support your organization in this new area of analytics?

In this session, learn what HR professionals can do to support this transformation across the organization, how positions that have been around for decades, like analysts, differ from new positions needed to support an analytics strategy, and what it takes for your HR department to stay ahead of the curve.

Learning Objectives:

·         Define different types of analytics

·         Identify the skills and roles needed in an analytics department and across the organization

·         Understand the difference between analytics positions and traditional IT and analyst positions

·         Identify best practices in how HR professionals can partner with business leaders to build analytics positions across the organization
