Our mission:

  1. Provide quality, professional development programs in defined areas of human resources aligned with and supporting the SHRM Competency Model.
  2. Bring together a community of HR professionals providing opportunities to network, share ideas, and best practices.
  3. Provide CI-SHRM members and HR professionals with practical and up-to-date information and training on relevant topics to build skills and enhance their effectiveness.

Presenter responsibilities:

  1. Provide high quality educational presentations.
  2. Avoid any “sales” or “marketing” techniques.
  3. Provide all handouts, if any, for attendees.
  4. Coordinate with the CI-SHRM Programming Committee regarding any special equipment needs.

Selection Criteria for Chapter Meetings

The following criteria will be used to select presenters for CI-SHRM events:

  1. Presenters must submit a written speaker request form to for consideration by the Programming Committee.
  2. Presenters must have expertise in the topics being presented and demonstrate their ability to tailor their session to meet CI-SHRM member needs.
  3. Presenter must have experience in presentation and workshop facilitation.
  4. Program design and materials must be high quality and clearly organized.
  5. Presenters for chapter meetings must be willing to volunteer his/her time and resources to design and deliver the presentation.

  • People analytics – HR scorecard, metrics, and management reports
  • Leading change

  • Employee training & development

  • Rewards and recognition programs on a budget

  • Strategic thinking and planning for HR professionals (Business Acumen Competency Development                Workshop)

  • Legal and Legislative topics and updates

  • Other relevant topics for HR professionals

2019 Chapter Meeting presentations are scheduled for the following dates:

            Tuesday, April 9th                                             Tuesday, May 14th

            Tuesday, June 11th                                          Tuesday, Aug. 13th

            Tuesday, Nov. 12th                                          Tuesday, Dec. 10th

The Competency Development Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, July 11th from 8 am to noon.
