Certification
Central Iowa SHRM is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP. SHRM Learning System Champion status is recognition of our chapter's hard work to increase professional development and HR knowledge among members. SHRM created this prestigious distinction in support of its premier educational product. This status also helps to promote the HR profession at the local level by using the #1 certification preparation program, the SHRM Learning System®.
Certification Study Groups
CI-SHRM offers two study groups per year which coincide with the SHRM exam windows. Study groups are participant led and coordinated by certification chair.

Changes to HRCI Re-certification Authorization
The HR Certification Institution (HRCI) has made changes that will affect how we acknowledge HRCI credit for our programming. The process to obtain preauthorized credits through HRCI has become very complex and cumbersome. Therefore, Central Iowa SHRM is no longer able to offer preauthorization for HRCI credits. If you hold the HRCI credentials, you will be able to use the information provided from Central Iowa SHRM educational programs to enter these continuing education credits into the HRCI portal. While this is not an ideal way to manage your HRCI recertification, the process to add the individual continuing education credits is very seamless.
